Meet the New Owners!
Founded in 2015, Bountiful Pies Legacy Lives On in 2020
Pictured is Cammie (left) and Heidi (right).
Heidi started O-Babie Bakery in 2007, selling her sweets at the Salem Saturday Market. She then started selling at local bricks and mortars, holiday shows, and even at the Oregon State Fair. Over the years, Heidi was continuously asked "Where is your retail outlet?". She always dreamed of having a place to call her own, so when she ran across the idea of a food cart, she thought why not a dessert cart? Taking on a new business while working a full-time job was a huge undertaking, so she asked her daughter Cammie to help manage. Her response was "No, I want to be your partner." and the mother-daughter duo was formed. In 2018 we opened our first “dessert truck”. Since then we have had up to 3 food trucks running at one time, but we currently only have 2, one that is just sweets and one that is a bistro-style food truck featuring breakfast, burgers, sandwiches and dessert.
You may be asking yourself how we came to own Bountiful Pies then. Well, we have had a licensed kitchen in our home since 2007, and our businesses have grown so much that our home was now a storage and baking unit for our business. It was time to move it to a bigger/more suitable environment. So, we inquired Julie to see if we could use her commercial kitchen on Edgewater a few times a week. Quickly we found out she was looking to sell her entire business. Loving baking, her pies, and her cute space we eagerly proposed we buy it. We were so excited and moved all our stuff into the space and started to imagine all the things we would do with the already cute space. Unfortunately, that excitement was short lived as we were soon notified that the previous lease was up and we would have to move everything out that we just moved in, including all the other equipment and fixtures. We had short notice on moving out, so we choose a location that we could get into right away. So the 45th Parallel building in Salem is where we ended up.
We were really bummed to have to move the bakery across the bridge as we know most of Bountiful Pies clients are on the west side of the bridge. However, we do plan on setting something up to somehow make things a bit simpler for those who do still wish to purchase pies from Bountiful Pies in Salem. More info to come on that.
To answer the biggest question of all: Yes, we will still have the same AMAZING recipes and crust! We do not want to give those up either!
We are finally getting all the pieces together and transferred over from Julie such as the name, pictures, etc. On that note, the previous website was unfortunately lost in the transfer. I am working on rebuilding a new one, but I am also working my butt off to get through nursing school online due to covid. So, it may be a while before that is up and running. We will keep you updated on that, but in the meantime if you have any questions please contact Heidi at 503-551-4297 or simply message us on Facebook.
This introduction is long winded, but I want to make sure everybody understands we have not been neglecting this business and look forward to the future will all of you! If you have read this far, thank you we genuinely appreciate your support and cannot wait for this holiday season. Please stay tuned on our new business hours posted weekly.
